Good news! Prepd’s Free Trial period has been extended by two weeks. From now until October 15, teams can use Prepd for free and without any restrictions. You can save up to 250,000 articles in Prepd, over 100,000 of which are auto-filed in the News Feed.
"Out of all the tools that exist for organizing extemp files, Prepd is definitely the best at combining convenience with organization. As a captain for extemp, Classroom is fantastic for monitoring individuals’ activity, and for facilitating some friendly competition in terms of article catching. Personally, Fast Catch is extremely useful for allowing me to download files during any free time I have, even right before prep itself. The practice questions and practice round features are essential for preparing, in that I’m able to brush up on any questions that I’m unfamiliar with. The ability to create folders and subfolders has become indispensable in round for accessing specific topic areas. With the addition of the News Feed to fill any gaps in our team’s files, we have the foundation for a smooth and productive prep. As an upcoming junior with experience in several different extemp tools, Prepd is certainly unmatched in quality."

We are a large squad that uses Prepd for both Extemp and Congress. We have found that Prepd is a platform that students learn very quickly. The fast catch feature on Prepd makes it very easy to file articles for both extemp and congress. Students can practice extemp speeches using the generated topics from Prepd. The challenges feature makes it easy for a coach to create specific levels of expected participation and easily evaluate which students have met those participation levels. Challenges can be used to set the minimum number of articles added to the library as well as the minimum number of articles that are marked read.
Prepd is a fantastic tool for Congressional Debate preparation. In addition to adding articles to a specific docket of legislation, students can highlight portions of articles and apply them to arguments they are creating. The student can use the arguments created to organize and update speeches they intend to give in Congress sessions. The Precedence Tracker (and Question Tracker) is a fantastic tool students can use in round to become even more involved with their session.
One of the best features of Prepd is the offline feature. Articles, arguments and speeches can be saved in a form that can be read offline during tournament rounds. This is much better than transferring articles stored on flashdrives or cloud storage sites that are inaccessible when internet is not allowed to be used. The Prepd team is constantly listening to the input of coaches and students to improve their product. I would highly recommend Prepd for all students.
